Is Rockstar revealing more GTA 6 this Thursday? The pattern, and a leaked TV ad

Rockstar keeps choosing Thursdays, and a leaked TV schedule suggests ads are coming. Here's what we know before October 8.

GTA 6 launches on a Thursday, and Rockstar has made Thursday its day for big announcements. With six weeks to go, fans expect something on Thursday, October 8. Rockstar hasn't announced anything for that date. Rumor / leak

The Thursday pattern

ThursdayWhat Rockstar released
August 27The 26-minute Extended Look on Netflix
September 3Limited-edition GTA 6 PS5 controllers revealed
September 17GTA VI: The Album announced
September 24The $399.99 Vice City Collection

Last week broke the habit slightly. Rockstar sent merch boxes to YouTubers such as TmarTn ahead of October 1, Beebom reports, but the biggest news, the Miami Heat's Vice City night, came on Friday, October 2. So a Thursday drop is likely, not guaranteed.

The leaked TV spot

A Reddit user who says they work at a news station posted an internal programming schedule listing a 45-second "GTA VI TV spot". Rumor / leak There was no air date. The post was deleted, but X user Mitch had already shared it, and the poster also uploaded a video of the station's interior as proof they work there, Beebom reports. They said stations can get schedules about three weeks ahead.

TV ads would make sense. Rockstar ran television spots for Red Dead Redemption 2 in the run-up to its October 2018 launch, and Take-Two's CEO has said GTA 6 still needs heavy marketing despite the hype. Preview report

What could come next

  • More album artists. A Spotify slip put Cardi B and Fuerza Regida on the tracklist. Rumor / leak
  • Public merch. Items from the creator boxes, like a Goodtime State shirt and a VI tote bag, haven't gone on sale yet. Preview report
  • Trailer 3. Rumored for about a week before launch, not this week. Rumor / leak

Our read

Something on October 8 is a fair bet, given the pattern and the timing. A new trailer this early is not. We'll update this story as soon as Rockstar posts anything.
